- Retrofit or full-frame installation?
- Retrofit keeps the existing frame and costs less. Full-frame removes everything to the studs and lets the installer correct rot, insulation, and flashing problems, which matters in older homes.
- Do window replacements need a permit?
- Same-size replacement often does not, but enlarging or adding an opening usually does because it affects structure. Confirm locally before ordering units.
