Privacy policy

The short version

We do not ask who you are. There are no accounts, no email capture, no phone numbers, no street addresses, and no payment details. Calculator inputs stay in your browser. We use Google Analytics to measure how the site is used; see below.

What we do not collect

• Your name, email address, phone number, or street address
• Payment or banking information
• Account credentials, because there are no accounts
• Uploaded documents or photos

What happens to your calculator inputs

Everything you enter is processed in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server for calculation and nothing is stored in a database. If you use the share link feature, your selections are encoded into the link itself, which means anyone who receives that link can see those selections. Do not add personal details to a shared link.

City selection

City selection is used only to apply a regional cost multiplier. It is optional in the sense that a default is always provided, and we never ask for a street address or postal code.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and anonymous interaction events, such as which calculator was used or whether a PDF was printed. Google may set cookies (including _ga and _ga_*) and receive your IP address, browser type, device type, referring site, and the pages you visit. We do not send your name, email, address, or calculator inputs to Google. IP anonymization is on by default in Google Analytics 4.

Google processes this data under Google's privacy policy. You can block analytics cookies in your browser, or use the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.

Advertising

The site launches without advertising. If advertising is added later, this policy will be updated to describe the provider, the cookies used, and how to control them, before ads appear.

Cookies

The calculators do not require cookies to function. Google Analytics cookies are used only to measure site usage as described above.

External links

We link to municipal and provincial resources. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which we do not control.

Children

This site is intended for adult homeowners and is not directed at children.
